A LITTLE KNOWLEDGE, A LONG TRADITION

What makes fermentation special?

Food, transformed over time.

Fermentation uses microorganisms such as bacteria and yeasts to transform food ingredients, developing distinctive flavours and changing their composition.

It is part of food traditions around the world. At Rimpanji Foods, ancestral food knowledge meets a curiosity informed by science.

Why people value it.

Fermentation can improve the digestibility of some foods. Its effects depend on the ingredients, cultures and preparation; the benefits of one fermented food do not automatically apply to another.

Fermented foods are not automatically proven probiotics.
